Vietnam Rivers Network’s annual conference 2019, which took place on December 4, 2019, attracted the participation and attention of numerous delegates from across the North, Central and the South of Vietnam.
The conference is not only a place to summarize the outstanding activities of VNR in the past year but also a scientific forum where speakers can present, express their views, share their concerns about current issues of the rivers such as Water security in the context of climate change and socio-economic development; Promote the participation of stakeholders in exploitation, use, and protection of water resources sustainability; Energy development issues such as hydropower and thermal power in rivers.
At the conference, the delegates also discussed the cooperation mechanism among Mekong countries on hydropower; The responsibility and authority of the community involved in monitoring water resources, as well as the consultation process for the construction of riverside facilities.
